MİKRO TİTREŞİMLİ DİŞ FIRÇASININ PLAK KALDIRMA ETKİNLİĞİNİN İN VİVO DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Abstract

Bu in vivo çalışmanın amacı, mikro titreşimli diş fırçalarının plak kaldırma etkinliklerini, geleneksel diş fırçaları ve
geleneksel diş fırçaları ile diş ipinin birlikte kullanımlarının etkinlikleriyle karşılaştırmaktır. Çalışmaya 20-21 yaşlarında,
hiçbir sistemik rahatsızlığı olmayan 12 sağlıklı gönüllü katılmış ve ölçümler öncesindeki 24 saat boyunca ağız hijyenine
ilişkin hiçbir işlem yapmamaları sağlanmıştır. Diş yüzeylerindeki plak, özel bir solüsyon (MIRA-2-TON, Hager Werken) ile
boyandıktan sonra, Rustogi Modifiye Navy indeksine göre skorlanmıştır. Tüm dişlerin dişin fasiyal ve lingual bölgeleri 9 ayrı
bölgeye ayrılmış ve her bölgede plağın varlığı '1' , yokluğu '0' olarak skorlanmıştır. Bu ölçümler aynı bireylere farklı
zamanlarda, geleneksel bir diş fırçasıyla (Colgate 360°) fırçalama öncesi ve sonrası, geleneksel diş fırçasının (Colgate 360°)
ve diş ipinin (Satin Tape, Oral-B) birlikte kullanımının öncesinde ve sonrasında, ve mikro titreşimli bir diş fırçasıyla (Oral-B
Pulsar, Oral-B) fırçalama öncesi ve sonrası yapılmış ve kaydedilmiştir. Diş fırçalama süresi iki dakika olarak standardize
edilmiştir. Ölçümler deneklerdeki hijyen işleminin ne olduğunu bilmeyen farklı bir araştırmacı tarafından yapılmıştır.
Araştırmamızın sonuçlarına göre diş fırçası disto-proksimal plağın %45'ini, mesio-proksimal ve gingival plağın %38'ini
kaldırırken, diş fırçası diş ipiyle birlikte kullanıldığında disto-proksimal plağın %64'ünü, mesio-proksimal plağın %48'ini ve
gingival plağın %51'ini kaldırmıştır. Mikro titreşimli kılları olan diş fırçası ise disto proksimal plağın %81'ini, mesioproksimal
plağın %61'ini ve gingival plağın %70'ini kaldırmıştır. Mikro titreşimli kılları olan diş fırçası çoğu bölgede en
yüksek plak kaldırma etkinliğini göstermiştir. Geleneksel diş fırçasıyla birlikte diş ipinin kullanımının da, sadece geleneksel
diş fırçasının kullanımına göre çoğu bölgede daha etkin bir şekilde plak kaldırdığı görülmüştür.
