DİŞ AŞINMALARININ DERECELERİYLE DENTİN HASSASİYETİNİN ŞİDDETİ ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİNİN İNCELENMESİ

Abstract

Dentin hassasiyetinin (DH) birçok etyolojik faktörü vardır ve toplumda büyük oranda görülmektedir. Ancak bu etyolojik
faktörler her zaman hassasiyete neden olmazlar. Dentin hassasiyetinin şiddeti bu etyolojik faktörlerin farklı derecelerinde
değişiklik gösterebilir. Bu çalışmanın amacı dentin hassasiyetine neden olabilen okluzal diş aşınmalarının dereceleriyle
dentin hassasiyetinin şiddeti arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesidir. Çalışmada okluzal diş aşınması bulunan toplam 42 hasta
olmak üzere, 150 diş incelendi. Diş aşınmalarının derecesi Tooth Wear Indeks (TWI) kullanılarak tespit edildi. Hastaların
asitli içecek alışkanlıkları kaydedildi. Okluzal diş aşınması bulunan dişlerdeki DH durumu ya da varsa şiddetini
değerlendirmek amacıyla Visual Analog Scalası (VAS) kullanıldı. TWI' ne göre 2. derece aşınmada görülen ortalama VAS
değeri, 1 ve 3. derecede görülen ortalama VAS değerlerinden anlamlı seviyede yüksek bulundu (P < 0.01). TWI' ne göre 3.

bulundu (P < 0.01). Okluzal aşınmanın dentini içerdiği 2. derecede DH'nin en yüksek seviyede olması ve aşınma ilerlediğinde
DH'nin azalması, smear tabakasının dentini tıkaması için zaman faktörünün önemli olabileceğini göstermiştir.
