ÖZET
Toplumsal sağlık bilincimizin artması ile menopoz dönemindeki kadınlar sorunlarını daha fazla dile getirir olmuşlardır. Kadınlar, bilinen klasik bilgilere (sıcak basması, sinirlilik, uykusuzluk) ek olarak östrojen ve progesteron eksikliğine bağlı kardiovasküler sorunlar ve osteoporoz konusunda daha bilgili hale gelmiştir. Aynı şekilde ağız mukozasındaki ülserasyonlar, anormal tat hissi, ağız yanması, ağız kuruluğu, deskuamatif gingivitis yine menopoz dönemindeki fizyolojik değişimlerle ilişkilendirilmiştir. Amacımız menopozla ilgili güncel bilgileri gözden geçirerek menopoz döneminde kadınların ağız sağlığı bilincini arttırmaya yardımcı olmaktır. Hormon replasman tedavisi ve ağız mukozasını destekleyecek ilaçlarında yardımıyla kadınları bu fizyolojik süreçte destekleyerek yaşlılıklarında oluşabilecek ciddi sorunlardan korumak ve toplum bilincimizi arttırmak tüm sağlık personeli ve diş hekimlerinin ödevidir.

ABSTRACT
Menopausal women start to declare more about the problems that they face during this period in correlation with the increasing level of health concious in Turkey. In addition to common knowledge about menopausal problems (hot flush,nervousness, insomnia) lack of ostrogen and progesteron are main causes of cardiovascular problems and osteoporosis. At the same point of view ulserations in oral mucosa, taste disorders, burning mouth, xerostomia and desquamative gingivitis were correlated with menapausal complaints. Our aim in this paper is to review latest reseaches and try to help increase oral health concious among menapausal women.With the help of hormone replacement therapy and medicals that support oral mucosa, menopausal women must be supported in this physiologic period in order to prevent other complaints and diseases that they may face in their elder ages. This seems to be an aim to all health workers including dentists.
