SUMMARY
We have constructed epi-iieses for four patients who had maxillo - facial defects and one who had iost her toes.
In the first four cases the defect part of the epitese is made of hard acrylic and the outside is made of soft acryiic «Palamed», in order to give a natural appearance, [n one of these, cases where the defect was very deep, to decrease the heaviness of the epithese we constructed the inside of the hard acrilic part empty. In the lost toes case we only made use of soft acrylic.
For the retention of the epitheses, in one case we used adhesive solution; in another case adhesive band olus naylon stockings. In the remaining three cases, glasses were used to aid retention.
