SUMMARY
In this article, treatment of a case of unerupted central incisors delayed in their eruption by supernumerary teeth has been reported.
It appears that there are differences between supernumerary teeth in their time of development, their position and their efect on the eruption of the associated permanent upper central incisors.
There are different types of supernumerary teeth occuring in the upper central incisor region. The tuberculate type considerably delays the eruption and its usual position palatal to the permanent upper central incisors. Root formation seems to be later in its development than the conical type and the permanent upper central incisors. The conical type is not usually delays the eruption of the permanent upper central incisors.
