                                                                                                <abstract><p>Görsel kültürün sosyal medya aracılığıyla mekân algısını dönüştürdüğü dijital çağda, mimarlık fiziksel varlığının ötesine geçerek Instagram gibi platformlarda yeniden üretilen bir estetik nesneye dönüşmektedir. Bu çalışma, Rodos Adası örneğinde Instagram estetiğinin turistik mekânlar üzerindeki etkisini incelemektedir. UNESCO Dünya Mirası Listesi’nde yer alan Rodos Eski Şehri, çok katmanlı mimari dokusuyla yoğun biçimde dijital temsile konu olmakta; bu temsiller kentin görsel anlatısını üretirken yerel kimlik ve turistik pratiklerle ilişkili mekânsal müdahaleleri de etkilemektedir. Araştırma, nitel bir yaklaşımla Instagram görselleri, alan gözlemleri ve kullanıcı yorumlarını birlikte değerlendirmektedir. #rodos ve #rhodesoldtown etiketleri üzerinden yapılan görsel analizler, öne çıkan mimari unsurları ve estetik kompozisyonları ortaya koymuş; dijital temsiller alan verileriyle karşılaştırılarak fiziksel mekânla ilişkileri incelenmiştir. TripAdvisor ve Google Maps yorumları ise görsel beklentilerin ziyaretçi deneyimini nasıl yönlendirdiğini göstermektedir. Elde edilen bulgular, Rodos Eski Şehri’nin dijital platformlarda bir “görsel sahne” olarak yeniden kurgulandığını ve fotojenikliğe yönelik müdahalelerin kültürel miras, mimari koruma ve turistik tüketim arasında yeni gerilimler yarattığını ortaya koymaktadır. Çalışma, dijital estetik odaklı mimari temsillerin tarihî mekânların özgün kimliği üzerindeki etkilerini tartışmaya açmaktadır.</p></abstract>

                            <p>In the digital age, where visual culture increasingly shapes spatial perception through social media, architecture extends beyond its physical presence and becomes an aesthetic object reproduced on platforms such as Instagram. This study examines the impact of Instagram aesthetics on touristic spaces through the case of Rhodes Island. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Rhodes Old Town is extensively represented through digital images, where its multi-layered architectural fabric is selectively framed, contributing to the construction of a visual narrative that influences local identity and tourism-related spatial practices. Adopting a qualitative research approach, the study combines the analysis of Instagram visuals, on-site observations, and user-generated content. Visual analyses of posts shared under the hashtags #rodos and #rhodesoldtown identify recurring architectural elements and aesthetic compositions, which are compared with field photographs to explore the relationship between digital representations and physical space. Additionally, user reviews from TripAdvisor and Google Maps reveal how visually mediated expectations shape visitors’ spatial experiences. The findings suggest that Rhodes Old Town is reconfigured as a “visual stage” on digital platforms, where photogenic-oriented interventions create new tensions between cultural heritage preservation, architectural conservation, and touristic consumption.</p></trans-abstract>
