                                                                                                <abstract><p>Amaç: Bu derlemenin amacı, oral mukozit gelişiminde rol oynayan mekanizmaları ve güncel biyomedikal yaklaşımları ele alarak tedaviye yönelik yeni stratejileri ortaya koymaktır.Materyal ve Metod: Çalışmada ulusal ve uluslararası veri tabanlarında yer alan güncel literatür taranmış, özellikle oral mukozit, biyomedikal tedavi yöntemleri ve alternatif yaklaşımlar üzerine yapılan klinik ve deneysel araştırmalar değerlendirilmiştir.Bulgular: Literatür bulguları, oral mukozit tedavisinde ağız hijyeni uygulamaları, ağrı kontrolü, beslenme desteği ve farmakolojik yöntemlerin yanında bal gibi arıcılık ürünleri, lazer ve fotobiyomodülasyon uygulamaları, nanoteknolojik yaklaşımlar ve biyouyumlu materyallerin öne çıktığını göstermektedir. Bu yöntemlerin antiinflamatuar, antimikrobiyal ve doku yenilenmesini destekleyici etkiler sağladığı görülmüştür.Tartışma: Biyomedikal yaklaşımlar, güncel farmakolojik tedavilere ek olarak oral mukozit yönetiminde umut verici etkiler sunmaktadır. Ancak çalışmaların çeşitliliği ve sınırlı örneklem büyüklüğü, bulguların genellenmesini kısıtlamaktadır. Gelecekte kontrollü klinik araştırmalarla etkinlik daha net değerlendirilebilir.Sonuç: Oral mukozit, hem hastaların yaşam kalitesini düşüren hem de tedavi sürecini olumsuz etkileyen önemli bir yan etki olarak öne çıkmaktadır. Güncel çalışmalar, biyomedikal yaklaşımlarda öne çıkan, özellikle arı ürünleri, lazer ve fotobiyomodülasyon ile nanoteknoloji temelli yöntemlerin oral mukozit tedavisinde gelecek vadeden alternatifler olduğunu göstermektedir. Bununla birlikte, mevcut bulguların klinik uygulamalara aktarılabilmesi için daha geniş, kapsamlı ve kontrollü çalışmalara ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır</p></abstract>

                            <p>Objective: The objective of this review is to present new treatment strategies by addressing the mechanisms involved in the development of oral mucositis and current biomedical approaches.Materials and Methods: The study involved a review of current literature available in national and international databases, with a particular focus on clinical and experimental research on oral mucositis, biomedical treatment methods, and alternative approaches.Results: Literature findings indicate that, in addition to oral hygiene practices, pain control, nutritional support, and pharmacological methods, beekeeping products such as honey, laser and photobiomodulation applications, nanotechnological approaches, and biocompatible materials are prominent in the treatment of oral mucositis. These methods have been found to provide anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and tissue regeneration-supporting effects.Discussion: Biomedical approaches show promising effects in the management of oral mucositis in addition to current pharmacological treatments. However, the diversity of studies and limited sample sizes restrict the generalizability of the findings. In the future, controlled clinical trials could provide a clearer evaluation of their effectiveness.Conclusion: Oral mucositis stands out as a significant side effect that both reduces patients’ quality of life and negatively impacts the treatment process. Current studies indicate that biomedical approaches, particularly bee products, laser and photobiomodulation, and nanotechnology-based methods, offer promising alternatives for the treatment of oral mucositis. However, more extensive, comprehensive, and controlled studies are needed to translate current findings into clinical practice.</p></trans-abstract>
