EQUILIBRIUM STUDIES ON Ni(II) and Cu(II) COMPLEXES with 4,7- DIMETHYL-1,10-PHENANTHROLINE and ACIDIC AMINO ACIDS in AQUEOUS SOLUTION

Abstract

The aim of this studies are to determine protonation constants of selected ligands {4,7-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline (4,7-dmphen), aspartic acid (asp) and glutamic acid (glu)} and their stability constants of (1:1) and (1:1:1) complexes with Ni(II) and Cu(II) ion were determined I = 0.1 M KCl and T = 298.15 K. The protonation constants of the 4,7-dmphen, asp and glu and their stability constants of the (1:1) and (1:1:1) Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes were computed performing BEST program. Moreover, SPE program was used to determine the distribution of the species occured in aqueous solution medium. The stability constants of the (1:1:1) Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes are compared with those of the corresponding the stability of the (1:1) Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes with regard to Δlog K values.
