<p>This study estimates the short- and long-run relationships between tourism revenues and public and private fixed capital investments in the tourism and transportation sectors in Türkiye over the period 1998–2024, employing the ARDL bounds testing approach from a public finance perspective. Short-run results show that private tourism and transport investments, together with public tourism and transport investments, exert positive and statistically significant effects on tourism revenues, while lagged coefficients display negative and corrective dynamics.Long-run findings indicate that transport infrastructure investment is the primary determinant of tourism revenues. A one-unit increase in public transport investment raises tourism revenues by approximately 1.11 units, whereas private transport investment increases revenues by about 0.86 units. In contrast, direct investments in the tourism sector are not statistically significant in the long run. Toda–Yamamoto causality tests reveal one-way causality running from public and private tourism investments and public transport investments to tourism revenues, whereas reverse causality is observed only from tourism revenues to private transport investments. Overall, the results suggest that capital investments act as leading drivers of tourism revenues and that transport infrastructure should be prioritized in public investment allocation and fiscal policy design.</p></trans-abstract>
