Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Öğretmeni Adaylarının Öğretmenlik Mesleğine Yönelik Kaygılarının Farklı Değişkenler Açısından İncelenmesi

Abstract

Meslek olarak öğretmenliğin toplum içinde güvenli olarak görüldüğü, fakat son yıllarda öğretmen yetiştiren kurumların artışı donanımlı öğretmen sayısında bir artış meydana getirmiştir. Dolayısıyla okulu bitirmenin yeterli olmadığının yanında kaygıya neden olduğu görülmektedir. Öğretmenleri dolu bir şekilde yetiştirmek ülkemizin kalkınması açısından oldukça önemlidir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, beden eğitimi öğretmeni adaylarının mesleklerine yönelik kaygı durumlarının incelenmesi amacıyla yapılan betimsel bir çalışmadır. Araştırmanın evrenini 2022-2023 eğitim öğretim yılında üniversitelerin spor bilimleri fakültelerinde öğrenim görmekte olan 3. Sınıf ile 4. sınıf Beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmeni adayları, örneklem grubunu ise gönüllülük esasına dayalı olarak seçilen 437 (248 erkek, 189 kadın) öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak; Cabi ve Yalçınalp (2013) tarafından geliştirilen “Öğretmen Adaylarına Yönelik Mesleki Kaygı Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde SPSS 22.0 programı kullanılmıştır. Araştırma verilerinin normal dağılım gösterip göstermediğini belirlemek amacıyla non-parametrik normallik testleri yapılmıştır. Normal dağılım göstermeyen veri setleri için Kurtosis-Skewness değerlerine bakılmış ve değerler +2/-2 arasında olduğu için verilerin normal dağılım gösterdiği belirlenmiş ve parametrik testler uygulanmıştır. Bağımsız değişkenler arasındaki farklılığın tespitinde independent sample t-testi ve One Way Anova analizlerinden yararlanılarak, sayısal veriler tablolar halinde yorumlanmıştır. Veriler normal dağılım göstermediği için testler kullanılarak 0.05 anlamlılık düzeyinde incelenmiştir. Sonuç olarak araştırma grubunun mesleklerine yönelik kaygı düzeylerinin cinsiyet değişkeni açısından farklılık olduğu ve erkek öğretmen adaylarının mesleki kaygı durumlarının kadınlardan daha yüksek olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Öğrenim görülen sınıf seviyesi açısından ölçeğin; atanma merkezli kaygı ile uyum merkezli kaygı değişkenleri arasında anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu ve 3. sınıfta öğrenim gören öğretmen adaylarının mesleki kaygı durumlarının 4. sınıfta öğrenim gören öğretmen adaylarından daha fazla olduğu görülmüştür. Katılımcıların mezun olunan lise türü değişkeni açısından meslek lisesi mezunlarının diğer lise türlerinden daha düşük mesleki kaygıya sahip olduğu, imam hatip lisesi mezunlarının daha yüksek mesleki kaygıya sahip olduğu görülmektedir. Akademik not ortalaması değişkeni açısından baktığımızda genel not ortalaması 3.51 ve üzerinde olan öğretmen adaylarının atanma merkezli kaygı durumlarının diğer gruplara oranla yüksek olduğu gözlenmiştir. Ayrıca anne eğitim düzeyi değişkeni açısından baktığımızda ilkokul olanların mesleki kaygı durumlarının lise mezunu olanlardan yüksek olduğu görülürken, atanma merkezli kaygı alt boyutunda; baba eğitim düzeyi ilkokul, ortaokul ve üniversite olanların lise mezunu olanlardan yüksek olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

Examination of Physical Education and Sports Teacher Candidates' Anxiety Towards Teaching Profession In Terms of Different Variables

Abstract

Teaching as a profession is seen as safe in society, but the increase in the number of teacher training institutions in recent years has led to an increase in the number of qualified teachers. Therefore, it is seen that finishing school is not enough and causes anxiety. The aim of this study is a descriptive study to examine the anxiety of physical education teacher candidates towards their profession. The population of the study consists of 3rd and 4th grade physical education and sports teacher candidates studying in the faculties of sport sciences of universities in the 2022-2023 academic year, and the sample group consists of 437 (248 male, 189 female) teacher candidates selected on the basis of volunteerism. As a data collection tool in the study; "Professional Anxiety Scale for Prospective Teachers" developed by Cabi and Yalçınalp (2013) was used. SPSS 22.0 program was used for data analysis. Non-parametric normality tests were performed to determine whether the research data were normally distributed. For the data sets that did not show normal distribution, Kurtosis-Skewness values were examined and since the values were between +2/-2, it was determined that the data showed normal distribution and parametric tests were applied. Independent sample t-test and One Way Anova analyses were used to determine the differences between independent variables and the numerical data were interpreted in tables. Since the data were not normally distributed, the tests were analyzed at 0.05 significance level. As a result, it was determined that the anxiety levels of the research group towards their professions differed in terms of gender variable and the occupational anxiety levels of male pre-service teachers were higher than female pre-service teachers. It was found that there was a significant difference between the variables of assignment-centered anxiety and adaptation-centered anxiety in terms of the grade level of the scale, and the occupational anxiety of the pre-service teachers studying in the 3rd grade was higher than the pre-service teachers studying in the 4th grade. In terms of the type of high school the participants graduated from, vocational high school graduates had lower professional anxiety than other high school types, while imam hatip high school graduates had higher professional anxiety. In terms of the academic grade point average variable, it was observed that pre-service teachers with a grade point average of 3.51 and above had higher assignment-centered anxiety than the other groups. In addition, in terms of the mother's education level variable, it was seen that those with primary school education had higher levels of occupational anxiety than those with high school graduates, while in the sub-dimension of assignment-centered anxiety; it was concluded that those with primary school, secondary school and university education levels were higher than those with high school graduates.
