Verilerin analizinde, t testi, ANOVA, Welch, Mann Whitney U testi, Kruskal Wallis H testi, Spearman korelasyon analizi kullanıldı. Bulgular: Hastaların yaş ortalaması 55.61±10.17 yıl, %54.4’ü kadın, %53.8’i ilköğretim mezunu idi.

<p>Aim: This study aimed to determine the relationship between type 2 diabetes patients’ perceptions of COVID-19 and their attitudes towards the vaccine. Method: The study was conducted using a descriptive and cross-sectional design, and the sample consisted of 171 type 2 diabetes patients who applied to the endocrinology outpatient clinic of a university hospital. Data were collected using the “Introductory Information Form”, “COVID-19 Perception Scale” and “Attitudes Towards COVID-19 Vaccine Scale”. In the analysis of data, the t-test, ANOVA, Welch, Mann Whitney U, and Kruskal Wallis H test and Spearman correlation analysis were used. Results: The mean age of the patients was 55.61±10.17 years, 54.4% were female, and 53.8% were primary school graduates. It was determined that 53.8% of the patients had contracted COVID-19, and 67.8% of these had a family history of COVID-19. 81.3% of the patients stated that vaccines are effective in preventing disease, 50.9% were vaccinated before the COVID-19 outbreak, and 68.4% believed that the outbreak would decrease with the COVID-19 vaccine. The mean score of the patients’ COVID-19 Perception Scale on the dangerousness sub-dimension was 4.16±0.87, and the mean score of the contagiousness sub-dimension was 4.10±0.70. The mean score of the patients’ Attitudes Towards COVID-19 Vaccine Scale for the positive attitude sub-dimension was 4.20±1.00 and the mean score of the negative attitude sub-dimension was 3.92±0.83. In the study, a correlation analysis conducted between the COVID-19 Perception Scale, Attitudes Towards the COVID-19 Vaccine Scale, and their sub-dimension revealed a positive and statistically significant relationship between all sub-dimension (p&amp;lt;0.01). Conclusion and Recommendations: In the study, it was determined that the patients’ perception of the dangerousness and contagiousness of COVID-19 was high and they had a positive attitude towards the COVID-19 vaccine and a less negative attitude. In this context, considering the high morbidity and mortality rates of individuals with diabetes in possible pandemic situations, it is emphasized that the monitoring, follow-up, and treatment processes of this vulnerable group should be planned comprehensively with an integrated approach by health professionals.</p></trans-abstract>
