Creative drama method in tourism education: Student opinions on role in learning, course process, and mood

Abstract

This research aims to reveal the opinions of the students of tourism education about the role of creative drama method in learning, course process and mood. The creative drama sessions prepared for the subjects in the hotel management course were conducted for a total of 11 weeks and 33 hours during a course period. The data of the research are participant diaries written by the students during the course period; At the end of the semester, students' letters and semi-structured questions were obtained through face-to-face interviews. Content analysis was applied to the collected data by using a qualitative research approach. As a result of the analysis, students’ opinions; learning, lesson process, and mood. As a result of the research, the creative drama method provides a suitable ground for vocational education and the method can be used in other courses. In the effective field, the students stated that their creative method was willing and willing to participate in the lessons and they felt happy, comfortable and confident during the course.
