<p>This article examines the emergence of feminist philosophy of science and its critiques of modern understanding of science. Initially, it is emphasized that the classical view of science as neutral, objective, and independent of values began to be questioned, especially from the twentieth century onward. Along with the critiques of philosophy of science and sociology of science, the feminist perspective has shown that scientific knowledge is intertwined with social positions, power relations, and sexist values. The study addresses feminist philosophy of science analyses under three headings. The first consists of studies that draw attention to the systematic exclusion of women from processes of scientific production and to how this situation narrows research agendas. In this section, the new perspectives that women have contributed to the history of science are shown through some examples. The second discusses how Quine’s semantic holism and the argument of the underdetermination of theories by observation inspired feminist epistemology and led to the feminist debate on objectivity. In this section, the problem of objectivity, which is an important contribution of feminist philosophy of science to epistemology, is examined. Finally, it examines studies that draw attention to the relationship between the general aims of science, such as rational explanation and the acquisition of objective knowledge, and male-dominated values. In conclusion, the contributions of feminist philosophy of science to the fields of history and philosophy of science are reviewed.</p></trans-abstract>
