                                                                                                <abstract><p>Bu araştırmanın amacı bir günlük işbaşı izleme (job-shadowing) uygulamasının 11. sınıf öğrencilerinin kariyer gelişimi süreçlerine katkılarını incelemektir. Nitel araştırma deseninin kullanıldığı bu çalışmada katılımcılar amaçlı örnekleme yöntemi kullanılarak seçilmiştir. Çalışma grubunu, 21 kız ve 17 erkek olmak üzere 38 lise öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır.  Katılımcılar Türkiye’de bir büyükşehirde yer alan akademik ağırlıklı eğitim veren bir lisede öğrenimlerine devam etmekte olan 11. sınıf öğrencileridir. Verilen toplanması, uygulamaya katılan öğrencilerin görüşlerini almak için araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan bir anket formu kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veriler, içerik analizi yöntemi yoluyla analiz edilmiştir. İçerik analizi sonuçlarında elde edilen bulgular, “benlik farkındalığına katkı”, “kariyer farkındalığın artması” ve “kariyer kararı verme süreçlerine etkisi” olarak adlandırılan üç ana tema altında toplanmıştır. Araştırmanın bulguları kariyer gelişimi ve işbaşı izlemeye ilişkin alanyazın ışığında tartışılmıştır.</p></abstract>
                                                                                                                                    <trans-abstract xml:lang="en">
                            <p>The aim of this research is to examine the contribution of one-day job-shadowing activity to the career development processes of 11th-grade students. In this study, in which the qualitative research design was used, the participants were selected using the purposive sampling method The study group consisted of 38 high school students,  21 female and 17 male.  The participants were 11th-grade students continuing their education in an academic-oriented high school located in a metropolitan city in Turkey. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire form prepared by the researchers to get the opinions of the students participating in the activity. The data were analyzed through the content analysis method. Findings from content analysis results were grouped under three main themes as &quot;contribution to self-awareness&quot;, &quot;increasing career awareness&quot; and &quot;influence on career decision making processes&quot;. The research findings are discussed in the light of the literature on career development and on-the-job monitoring.</p></trans-abstract>
