Türkiye'de 2000 ve 2024 Yılları Arasında Dil Edinimi Üzerine Yapılan Doktora Tezlerinin İncelenmesi

Öz

Dil edinimi pek çok araştırmacı için ilgi çekici bir konu olmuştur. Genel kanı, dil edinimin dil öğreniminden farklı olduğu ve gerekli bilgi ve becerilerin örtük bir şekilde bilinçli bir çaba gerektirmeksizin gerçekleşmesi yönündedir. Ana dili ve ikinci dil edinimini açıklamak için çeşitli teoriler öne sürülmüştür. Öte yandan, kullanılan farklı bilimsel yöntemler ve yaklaşımlar nedeniyle ortaya çıkan önemli sorular ve tartışmalar bulunmaktadır. Bu sebeple dil edinimi süreciyle ilgili hâlâ cevap bekleyen çok soru vardır. Bu çalışma, 2000-2024 yılları arasında Türkiye'de dil edinimi üzerine yapılan doktora araştırmalarının genel bir resmini sunmayı amaçlamaktadır. Veriler, Türkiye Yükseköğretim Kurulu (YÖK) Ulusal Tez Merkezi tarafından çevrim içi ve açık erişimli olarak yayımlanan tez koleksiyonlarından elde edilmiştir. Sonuçlar, doktora tezi çalışmalarında genel olarak odaklanılan dil edinimi konularının neler olduğunu ve araştırmalarda kullanılan yöntem ve yaklaşımların zaman içerisinde nasıl değiştiğinin daha iyi anlaşılmasını sağlamaktadır. Çalışma ayrıca gelecekteki araştırmalar ve pedagojik uygulamalar için faydalı bakış açıları ve referanslar sunmaktadır.

Review of Doctoral Research on Language Acquisition between 2000 and 2024 in Türkiye

Öz

Language acquisition has been an appealing topic for many researchers. The general consensus is that acquisition differs from learning in that it involves acquiring knowledge and skills unconsciously. Several theories have been proposed to explain first and second language acquisition. On the other hand, there have been crucial issues and controversies that have emerged due to distinct scientific traditions employed, and thus there is still a huge pile of questions awaiting answers. The main goal of this study is to provide a comprehensive picture of doctoral research on language acquisition between 2000 and 2024 in Türkiye. The data have been obtained from the collection of dissertations published online by the National Thesis Centre of the Council of Higher Education (CoHE) in Türkiye. The results offer a deeper understanding of general focus on the language acquisition research among doctoral candidates in Türkiye and how the direction of interest has changed over time. The study also provides valuable references and insights for future research and pedagogy.
