<p>OBJECTIVE: The study aimed to investigate the relationship between the attitude levels of students in the healthcare services department of a vocational school towards ageism and the sociodemographic variables that influence this attitude.MATERIAL AND METHODS: The descriptive type of research was carried out with the participation of 221 students studying at Çerkeş Vocational School between April 15 and July 15, 2023. A personal information form survey and the Ageism Attitude Scale (AAS) were used as data collection tools. Mann-Whitney U tests, t-tests and ANOVA tests were used in statistical comparisons. The statistical significance of the data was evaluated at p&amp;lt;0.05 level.RESULTS: It was determined that certain sociodemographic variables (gender, department, class and whether or not the respondent lived with a family member aged 65 or over) created a statistically significant difference in the total scale score (p&amp;lt;0.05). It was determined that some sociodemographic variables (smoking status, presence of a chronic disease, and the presence of an individual aged 65 years or older in the family) did not create a significant difference in the total score of the scale. (p&amp;gt;0.05). The mean total score of the Ageism Attitude Scale among students was 69.31±9.61.CONCLUSIONS: The study found that students&#039; attitudes towards ageism were above average and positive. Social activities and events organized together with older adults may contribute positively to attitudes toward ageism.</p></trans-abstract>
