                                                                                                <abstract><p>20. yüzyıl Fransız müziğinin önde gelen temsilcilerinden Francis Poulenc, geleneksel ve modern öğeleri ustaca harmanlayan, özgün bir müzikal dil geliştirmiştir. Neoklasisizm, lirik ifade gücü ve armonik yeniliklerin belirgin bir biçimde öne çıktığı müziğinde, Paris avangardı ve geleneksel Fransız melodilerinin etkileri dikkat çeker. 1940 yılında bestelenen &quot;Sextet&quot; adlı eseri, Poulenc’in bu müzikal dilinin ayrıntılı bir analizine olanak tanımaktadır. Eser, II. Dünya Savaşı&#039;nın başında, Avrupa’nın çalkantılı bir döneminde bestelenmiş olup, bu dönemin getirdiği duygusal yoğunluk ve karakteristik özellikler eserde hissedilmektedir. İlk dinleyici tepkileri olumsuz olsa da zamanla bu eserin müzikal değeri takdir görmüştür. Eserin melodik ve armonik yapısındaki ani duygu değişimleri; melankoli ve neşe arasında gidip gelen dramatik bir etki yaratmıştır. Performans açısından zorluklar barındıran eserin, yazıldığı gibi icra edilmesi, bestecinin ortaya koyduğu derinliği tam anlamıyla yansıtmak adına önem taşımaktadır. Bu bağlamda &quot;Sextet&quot;, Poulenc’in yaratıcı dehasını ve 20. yüzyıl müziğine olan katkısını gözler önüne seren bir başyapıt olarak klasik müzik literatüründe önemli bir yere sahiptir.</p></abstract>
