Today, social networks have become a communication centre for people who have access to these environments, where good or bad news is announced. In this context, parents, as loyal users of social media, announce their children to all the inhabitants of the digital world with ultrasound photos before they are even born. Moreover, children start taking their first steps in the digital world with their digital footprints before they take their first steps in the real world, and they already have their digital identities. After birth, all their privacy is disregarded and their ordinary lives are exhibited to the user masses who are the inhabitants of the digital world. These posts made by parents about their children through social networks are defined by the concept of "Sharenting" in the literature. These posts reveal the problem of children's privacy and bring it to the fore, making it necessary to conduct informative studies to raise parental awareness of the issue. Since "Sharenting" behaviour is a common problem on a global scale, this study aims to analyse public service announcements (PSAs) published in different countries in the context of "Sharenting". Accordingly, the study analysed PSAs on "Sharenting" in three different countries (Turkey, Norway and Germany) representing the research population using the semiotic analysis technique. After doing the research, it was found that although the way the idea is dealt with in each country is different, the common theme in all the PSAs looked at is the negative results of "Sharenting" and the risks that children may face in their current or future lives. However, while the negative consequences of “sharenting” behaviour are a common problem for all children, regardless of gender, highlighting only girls in PSAs creates the impression that the problem is unique to girls. Therefore, while the PSAs aim to draw attention to the drawbacks of “Sharenting”, it has also been determined that they negatively contribute to the reproduction of gender stereotypes.
