Psychiatric illness is a condition in which a person thinks for a
variety of reasons, and behaves in a sad manner. Obsessivecompulsive
disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder in which time
people have recurring, unwanted thoughts, ideas or sensations
(obsessions) that make them feel driven to do something repetitively
(compulsions). The repetitive behaviors, such as hand
washing, checking on things or cleaning, can significantly interfere
with a person’s daily activities and social interactions. Such
signs and symptoms are determined in the diagnosis of the
disease. Many studies with clinical value have been performed
for a long time so that the treatment of obsessive compulsive
disorder can be successfully performed. If depression is severe,
antidepressants are successful in reducing disease symptoms.
The majority of physicians prefer psychotherapy and drug
combinations to effectively treat obsessive-compulsive disorder,
which affects millions of people around the world. It is also used
in surgical procedures in the treatment of this disease. There
are many independent studies completed independently in the
literature. In this review, the diagnostic and treatment methods
for the patients who have undergone these studies performed
by academicians and specialists in a combined and arranged
manner, especially those with obsessive compulsive disorder,
are explained in detail.
