                                                                                                <abstract><p>Bu çalışma, bünyesinde tarımsal üretim yapan askeri eğitim almış ve silahlandırılmış personeli barındıran, sınır bölgelerinde konuşlandırılarak güvenlik sisteminin bir parçası haline getirilen İsrail’in Nahal yerleşim yerlerini, amaç-kuruluş-yapı-işlev-konumlandırma bağlamında askeri literatürdeki ileriden savunma stratejisi yönünden incelemektedir. Anılan kapsamda Nahal yerleşimlerinin güvenlik sistemine ve anlayışına olan katkısını ve etkisini de ele alınmakta ve değerlendirilmektedir. Bu yapının daha sonra dönüşmüş formları şeklinde İsrail Savunma Kuvvetleri’nin düzenli birliği olarak 1982 yılında kurulan Nahal Piyade Tugayı, 1999 yılında teşkilatlanan askerlik görevlerini dini yükümlülükleriyle eş zamanlı yapılmasına imkan tanıyan Nahal Haredi Taburu ve İsrail’in güvenlik beklentisi ile uygulamalarına olan katkıları haricindeki işlevleri çalışma kapsamı dışında tutulmuştur.</p></abstract>
