In this study, the reactions of 39 oleic type safflower genotypes were investigated for identification of resistance against Alternaria leaf spot disease under field conditions. In the 2020 production period, oleic type genotypes cultivated in the safflower research field at the Thrace Agricultural Research Institute were evaluated according to a scale of 0-5 and grouped depending on disease reactions. Based on the rating, there was no genotype with a Resistant (0 %) reaction among the materials. 3 genotypes (Seledas-248, Seledas -250, Seledas -251) were shown Moderately Resistant (0-10 %) reaction and 10 genotypes (PI 537710 1137, TRE-OA05-04-141110T, TRE-OA08-03- 324110T, TRE-OA09-03-431110T, TRE-OA09-04-621220T, TRE-OA10- 02-512110T, TRE-OA10-03-331110T, Seledas-187, Ole, S-317) were shown Moderately Sensitive (10-20 %) reaction. In this study, it was determined that there are differences among the safflower genotypes in terms of resistance to Alternaria leaf spot disease. As a result, 13 oleic type safflower genotypes were designated promising about disease resistance for the breeding studies to be carried out.
</trans-abstract>
