ÖZLatife Tekin’in, ilk basımı 1984 yılında yapılmış olan ikinci romanı Berci Kristin Çöp Masalları’nda bir kentin kıyısında çöp yığınları ile fabrikaların faaliyet gösterdiği bölgede kurulan gecekondu semti sakinlerinin zorlu yaşam mücadeleleri dramatik biçimde anlatılmaktadır. Her yıkım sonrası tekrar kurulan gecekondulardan Çiçektepe adında bir mahalle oluşur. Romanda genel olarak mahallede ikamet eden topluluğun sosyo-kültürel yapısı, ekonomik durumu, siyasi yaşamı ve sanayileşmeyle birlikte oluşan çevre kirliliği yansıtılmaktadır. Günümüzde dünya genelinde görülen nüfus artışı, gelir dağılımındaki adaletsizlik, işsizlik, göç, çarpık kentleşme, üretim-tüketim anlayışındaki değişiklik, sanayileşme, iklim değişikliği, yaşanan savaşlar, doğal kaynakların bilinçsizce kullanımı, çevre kirliliği vs. faktörler doğanın uyumunu ve dengesini bozduğu gibi küresel ekolojik krize de neden olmaktadır. Bu durum bir bakıma insanın doğaya egemen olma ve ona tahakküm etme isteğinden ileri gelmektedir. Doğa ile ilişkimizde insan-merkezcilik anlayışından vazgeçebilme adına “Derin Ekoloji” ve “Ekofeminizm” gibi bazı akımlar geliştirilmiştir. Bu kuramların amacı; bireyde doğaya karşı bir sorumluluk duygusu oluşturarak çevre etiği kazandırabilmektir. Doğanın tahrip olmasına neden olan unsurlar göz önünde bulundurulduğunda ekoeleştirinin kapsamı içerisine hem söz konusu kuramlar hem biyoloji, fen, siyaset vs. bilim dalları hem de sosyal bilimler ve edebiyat girmektedir. The novel generally reflects the socio-cultural structure, economic situation, political life of the community residing in the neighborhood and the environmental pollution caused by industrialization. Today, population growth seen worldwide, injustice in income distribution, unemployment, migration, unplanned urbanization, change in the understanding of production-consumption, industrialization, climate change, wars, unconscious use of natural resources, environmental pollution, etc. These factors not only disrupt the harmony and balance of nature, but also cause a global ecological crisis. In a way, this situation stems from man's desire to dominate and dominate nature. Some movements such as "Deep Ecology" and "Ecofeminism" have been developed in order to abandon the anthropocentrism in our relationship with nature. The purpose of these theories is; The aim is to create environmental ethics in the individual by creating a sense of responsibility towards nature. Considering the factors that cause the destruction of nature, both the theories in question and biology, science, politics, etc. are included within the scope of ecocriticism. It includes branches of science as well as social sciences and literature.
