                                                                                                                                                <abstract><p>Bu araştırmanın amacı, sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının ChatGPT’ye ilişkin algılarını metaforlar aracılığıyla ortaya koymaktır. Araştırma, 2024-2025 eğitim-öğretim yılında Karadeniz Bölgesi’nde yer alan bir üniversitenin Eğitim Fakültesinde yürütülmüştür. Araştırma 1., 2., 3. ve 4. sınıf düzeyindeki 165 sınıf öğretmeni adayının katılımıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan olgubilim desenine göre yürütülmüştür. Veriler araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen metafor formu ile toplanmış, içerik analizi kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre, sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının ChatGPT kavramına ilişkin toplam 17 farklı metafor geliştirdiği belirlenmiştir. Bu metaforlar katılımcıların ChatGPT’ye ilişkin algılarını yansıtan “bilgi sağlama açısından ChatGPT”, “yaşamı kolaylaştıran bir yardımcı olarak ChatGPT” ve “sınırlılıklar açısından ChatGPT” olmak üzere üç farklı kategori altında gruplandırılmıştır. ChatGPT’nin bilgi sağlama işlevine atıf yapan metaforlar arasında “kütüphane”, “sınırsız beyin” ve “bilim insanı” öne çıkarken, ChatGPT’nin yardımcı bir araç olarak algılandığı metaforlar “yardımcı” ve “hayatı kolaylaştırma makinesi” kodlarında sıklıkla dile getirilmiştir. ChatGPT’nin sınırlılıklarını vurgulayan metaforların ise en fazla “tembellik”, “sınırlı bir zeka” ve “yaratıcılık önündeki engel” olduğu görülmüştür.</p></abstract>
                                                                                                                                    <trans-abstract xml:lang="en">
                            <p>The aim of this study is to reveal the perceptions of pre-service primary school teachers about ChatGPT through metaphors. The research was conducted in the Faculty of Education of a university located in the Black Sea Region in the 2024-2025 academic year. The study was conducted with the participation of 165 pre-service primary school teachers at the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade levels. The study was conducted according to the phenomenological design, which is one of the qualitative research methods. Data were collected using a metaphor form developed by the researchers and analyzed using content analysis. According to the results of the study, it was determined that pre-service primary school teachers developed a total of 17 different metaphors about the concept of ChatGPT. These metaphors were grouped under three different categories as “ChatGPT in terms of providing information”, “ChatGPT as an assistant that makes life easier” and “ChatGPT in terms of limitations” which reflect the participants&#039; perceptions of ChatGPT. While “library”, “unlimited brain” and “scientist” stand out among the metaphors referring to ChatGPT’s function of providing information, the metaphors in which ChatGPT is perceived as an assistant that makes life easier were frequently mentioned in the codes of “helper” and “machine to make life easier”. The metaphors emphasizing the limitations of ChatGPT were mostly “laziness”, “limited intelligence” and “obstacle to creativity”.</p></trans-abstract>
