Uykuyu Sahnelemek: Çağdaş Sanat ve 7/24 Kapitalizmin Duygulanımsal Politikaları

Öz

Bu makale, seçili çağdaş sanat yapıtları ve sergileme pratiklerinin uykuyu 7/24 kapitalizm altında nasıl sahnelediğini incelemektedir. Uykuyu yalnızca fizyolojik anlamıyla değil; dinlenme, kısa uyku, tükenmişlik, geri çekilme ve yataylık gibi uykuya komşu pratiklerle birlikte ele almaktadır. Temel olarak sosyolojik uyku çalışmaları ve duygulanım kuramına yaslanan makale, uykunun suçluluk, kaygı, utanç, tetikte olma, tükenmişlik ve optimizasyonun örgütlendiği toplumsal-siyasal bir zemin olduğunu savunmaktadır. Görünürlük, kayıt altına alma ve reddetme/bakım eksenlerinde, çağdaş sanatın uykuyu yönetilen bir limit, sergisel yüzey, teknolojik kayıt alanı ve kolektif bakım talebi olarak görünür kıldığını tartışmaktadır.

Staging Sleep: Contemporary Art and The Affective Politics of 24/7 Capitalism

Öz

This article examines how selected contemporary artworks and exhibitionary practices stage sleep under 24/7 capitalism. It uses sleep not only physiologically, but also through sleep-adjacent practices such as rest, napping, exhaustion, withdrawal, and horizontality. Grounded primarily in the sociology of sleep and affect theory, the article argues that sleep becomes a social and political terrain where guilt, anxiety, shame, vigilance, exhaustion, and optimisation are organised. Through the operations of exposure, capture, and refusal/care, it shows how contemporary art makes sleep visible as a managed limit, an exhibitionary surface, a field of technological capture, and a collective claim to care and non-availability.
