<p>Pierre Bourdieu is one of the most influential intellectuals of the 20th century. This study aims to achieve a goal involving two dimensions. The first of these is to make a comprehensive introduction and presentation of the main lines of the sociological approach put forward by Bourdieu. In connection with the first, the second aim is to expressly point out the possibilities of Bourdieu’s sociological approach to understanding and analyzing politics and to provide an encouraging basis for the use of his approach for political sociology and political science researches. In line with these purposes, a comprehensive evaluation of the literature produced on Pierre Bourdieu’s works, especially his own original works, has been made methodologically. The general conclusion reached by the study is that the concepts and theories presented by Bourdieu offer opportunities that cannot be ignored in understanding the field of politics and in political analysis, and these opportunities create a suitable framework for political research on both theoretical and practical levels.</p></trans-abstract>
