                                                                                                <abstract><p>Özet:Bu yazı, dünyada neoliberal politikaların yarattığı muazzam basınçla işçi sınıfımücadelesinin geriletildiği, kamu hizmeti anlayışının giderek ortadan kaldırıldığı ve medyasektörünün uluslararası ölçekte genişlediği 1980’li yıllardan günümüze medya mülkiyetindemeydana gelen değişimlerin bir özetidir. Bu dönemde yoğun birleşme ve satınalmalarla çokkollu devasa yapılara dönüşen medya / iletişim sektörü, bir yandan iktisadi ve siyasi alandadaha etkin bir rol üstlenirken, diğer yandan, derinleşen toplumsal eşitsizliğin ve ayrımcılığınher çeşidinin yeniden üretiminde yeni işlevler kazanmıştır. Dünyada çok farklı siyasalbiçimlerle tezahür eden bu politikalar, Türkiye’de 24 Ocak Kararları ve 12 Eylül darbesininbileşiminden oluşan yeni bir hegemonya projesi ile hayata geçirilmiştir. Bu projenin birparçası olarak medya sektörünün iktisadi, siyasi ve ideolojik olarak yeniden yapılanmasında‘yeni bir medya mimarisi’ de görülür hale gelmiştir. Çalışmanın sonunda önerilen, her türlüolumsuzluğa rağmen alternatif bir iletişim ortamının ancak, emekçi sınıfların iktidarınıhedefleyen politikalarla gerçekleştirilebileceğidir.Anahtar sözcükler: medya endüstrisi, neoliberalizm, yeni medya mimarisi, alternativeiletişimAbstract:This article provides a summary of the changes in the media sector since the 1980s wherethe labour struggle all around the world is weakend by the hard-hitting forces of neoliberalpolicies, public service ethos is gardually eradicated and media industries expanded worldscale. During this period, the media/communication sector tranforming to gigantic enterprisesthrough intense mergers and acquisations acquired new functions in the reproduction andwidening of all sorts of social inequalities and dicrimination while acquiring a more activerole in the political and economic spheres. These policies occuring in different ways in differentplaces are adopted in Turkey with a new hegemony project emerged with the blending ofausterity measures of ‘24 January decisions’ and the military coup of 12 September 1980. ‘Anew media architecture’ has become visible during the economic, political and ideologicalrestructuring of the media sector as an integral part of this project. This study suggests inconclusion that despite all the shortcomings, alternative communication can be establishedthrough policies targeting the working classes coming to power.Keywords: media industries, neoliberalism, new media architecture, alternativecommunication</p></abstract>
