Anadolu’da son bin yıllık zaman diliminin en önemlisağlık kurumlarından biri olan darüşşifanın (şifahane), günümüzde AmerikaBirleşik Devletleri’nde (ABD) sıkça rastlanan Wellness Center kavramı ile benzer özellikler taşıdığıgörülmektedir. ABD, 1960’lı yıllardan sonra bilinçli olarak geliştirmiş olduğuwellness sağlık anlayışı ile yeni bir yaşam tarzı şekillendirme yolunagitmiştir. Turizm etkisinde ise “Geleneksel Çin Tıbbı (GÇT)” ya da “Ayurveda” gibi farklı birçok kültürünbinlerce yıldan beri geliştirdiği yerel sağlık felsefeleri yayılarakküreselleşmeye başlamıştır. Türkiye’de de bu bağlamda pek çok şifahanemevcuttur ve bunlardan biri olan Edirne’deki II. Bayezid Darüşşifasıhâlihazırda restore edilmiş ve fiziki yapısı tekrar kültüre kazandırılarak birmüzeye dönüştürülmüştür. Bu çalışmada, henüz yeteri kadar bilinmeyenDarüşşifa’daki müzikle tedavi uygulamaları, Türkiye’nin sağlık sektörü vesağlık turizmi konsepti için “Türk Wellness Felsefesi” oluşturmak bağlamındaEdirne’deki II. Bayezid Darüşşifası örneği üzerinden ele alınmaya çalışılmış vebu uygulamaların tartışmaya açılması planlanmıştır.
It is observed that darussifa(sifahane, hospital, medical centre[1]), which had always beenone of the most significant medical institutions in Anatolia within the lastthousand years, has several characteristics in common with the Wellness Centre, which is a commonconcept in the United States of America (USA). The USA sought for shaping a newlifestyle with the wellness healthcare concept, which has been deliberativelydeveloped after the 1960s. ın tourism, many different indigenous healthphilosophies, which have been developed by many different cultures, such as“Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)” or “Ayurveda”,for thousands of years, began to expand and globalize. Within this context,there are numerous medical centres (sifahane) in Turkey and one of theexamples, Darussifa of Bayezid II in Edirne, has been renovated and turned intoa museum through renovation of its physical structure. In this study, theauthors attempted to discuss the under-recognized concept of music therapy inDarussifa through the case of Darussifa of Bayezid II in Edirne, within thecontext of developing a “Turkish Wellness Philosophy” for healthcare sector andhealth tourism concept in Turkey, and they also planned to bring this subjectup for discussion.[1] Although the actual word is Darussifa, it is commonlyused as “sifahane” in Turkish.
