A literature review on responsible tourism is conducted in this study. The factors that have an average environmental impact on a tourist journey are identified, and a model proposal is made for calculating the environmental load that each of these factors causes. According to the literature, as tourism became aware of the negative effects of tourism on the environment, it began focusing on ways to reduce the sector&#039;s externalities. Tourists, as consumers, should also participate in the sustainable process. As a result, there is a need for a calculating approach that can concretely quantify tourist responsibility. The model proposal takes a realistic applicability perspective to create awareness about the environmental impacts that tourists will have and to take responsibility according to the &quot;polluter pays&quot; principle in mitigating tourism&#039;s effects. In practice, despite the growing body of theoretical literature on responsible tourism, the question of how to deliver responsible tourism remains unanswered. Using the concept of extended producer responsibility, this article proposes a paradigm in which tourists&#039; responsibilities are raised to close the gap.</p>
