                            <p>Elaiussa Sebaste kentinin bilinen tek tapınağı, hem karadan hem de denizden   rahatça görülebilen, güney limanını kapatan dağlık burun üzerinde yükselmektedir.   Ne arkeolojik ne de tarihsel ve epigrafik veriler kesin bir bilgi vermediği için, yapının hangi tanrıya adandığı kesin olarak bilinmemekle birlikte, şimdiye kadar Zeus,   Poseidon, Athena ve Aphrodite’nin adının geçtiği farklı önerilerde bulunulmuştur.   Bu çalışmada, yapının kabartma ve süslemelerinin ikonografileri ve Roma   İmparatorluk Çağı’nda kentleşme, imar politikaları ve bunların külte yansımalarından yola çıkarak Elaiussa Sebaste’de yer alan tapınağın, Kappadokia Kralı I. Archelaos   tarafından, Augustus’a olan şükranlarını göstermek için imparatorun onuruna yaptırılmış olabileceği önerilmiştir</p></trans-abstract>
                                                                                                                                    <trans-abstract xml:lang="en">
                            <p>Der einzig bekannte Tempel in Elaiussa Sebaste befindet sich auf einer felsigen   Landzunge, die sowohl vom Land als auch vom Meer aus weithin sichtbar ist und   den südlichen Hafen abschließt. Es geht weder aus archäologischen noch epigraphischen und historischen Daten hervor, welcher Gottheit dieses Bauwerk geweiht   war, doch wurden als Kultinhaber bisher Zeus, Poseidon, Athena und Aphrodite   vorgeschlagen.   In dieser Arbeit wird die These aufgestellt, dass der Tempel in Elaiussa Sebaste   von Archelaos I., König von Kappadokien, für Kaiser Augustus gebaut wurde,   als Zeichen der Dankbarkeit gegenüber dem römischen Kaiser. Hinweise darauf   geben die Ikonographie der Reliefs und der Ornamentik des Tempels, der Kontext   von Urbanisierung und Baupolitik in dieser Epoche sowie die Reflexionen dieser   Politik im Kult</p></trans-abstract>
