It begins with a chronological summary of the settlement areas of the ancient city of Klazomenai2. This is followed by presentation of the burial clusters, the necropolis areas and the tumuli uncovered in Klazomenai, and a comparison with findings from other Ionian centers. The paper concludes with reflections on ancient social organization based on data from the burial grounds, and evaluation of the characteristics of the family burials.</p>
