What I have to offer is some information on a project that was planned and organized by R. Ziegler / University of Duisburg and myself and that was actually executed by a team of three colleagues. We chose the title “Divinities and Cults as Evidence for the Processes of Acculturation in Smooth Cilicia”; the span of time covered is the Hellenistic and Roman period. The project was financed by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) from November 1999 to February 2002. It was part of a vast research program initiated by the DFG in 1998 under the title “Models and Routes of Acculturation in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Black Sea Area in Antiquity”.</p>
