SUMMARY
Thyroid Hormones in Cancer Patients and Their Relation to Anemia
Total T3 and T4 levels were measured in control group and 20 patients with cancer, 10 of which had anemia of chronic disease. It was found that total T3 levels were lowered in cancer patients with anemia in relation with the severity of disease, whiie total T4 levels did not change. The correlation between total T3 and total T4 levels disappeared in all patients with cancer. Total T3 and T 4 levels did not correlate with the haemoglobin levels.
