Drug-Induced Hepatic Vascular Manifestations
There are a huge number of drugs and other chemicals that can produce hepatic injury. The injury may involve mainly hepatocytes, bile flow or vascular structures. A wide variety of vascular abnormalities of the liver can occur as a result of drug therapy. The diverse morphologic lesions produced by medications include sinusoidal dilatation, peliosis hepatis, vasculitis, hepatic venous outflow obstruction, veno-occlusive disease, hepatoportal sclerosis, angiosarcoma and nodular regenerative hyperplasia.
