                                                                                                <abstract><p>Bu çalışmada X52 (API 5L) malzemesinden imal edilmiş spiral kaynaklı çelik borular, değişik pozisyonlarda tam otomatik gazaltı (MAG) kaynak yöntemi ile alın alına birleştirilmişlerdir. Kaynak esnasında kullanılan torç konumunun kaynak bölgesindeki etkilerini görmek amacıyla numunelere eğme, sertlik ve çentik kırma (nick break) testleri uygulanmıştır. Ayrıca kaynaklı numunelerin ultrasonik muayeneleri gerçekleştirilmiştir. Kaynaklı numunelere uygulanan çentik kırma ve eğme testleri sonucunda, sadece yatay oluk ve aşağıdan yukarı tüm pozisyonlarda olumlu sonuçlar alınmıştır. Sertlik ölçümleri sonucunda, en yüksek sertlik değerlerinin ITAB’da olduğu ve onu sırasıyla kaynak metali ve esas metalin takip ettiği tespit edilmiştir. Ultrasonik muayene sonucunda da yatay oluk ve aşağıdan yukarı tüm pozisyonlarda kaynak dikişlerinin sağlam olduğu görülürken diğer bütün pozisyonlarda hatalı oldukları belirlenmiştir.</p></abstract>

                            <p>In this study, spiral welded steel pipes made of X52 (API 5L) material were butt joined at different positions using full  automatic gas metal arc welding (MAG). In order to examine the influence of the torch position on the weldment, the specimens  were subjected to bending, hardness and nick-break tests. In addition ultrasonic inspections were also carried out on the welded  specimens. The results obtained from nick-break and bending tests indicated that samples welded in the position of flat and  vertical-travel up showed good results. The highest hardness values were obtained from HAZ and this is followed by weld metal  and the base metal. Ultrasonic inspection revealed that only flat and vertical-travel up position led to robust weld beads.</p></trans-abstract>
