Bilindiği gibi “Engellilik” pek çok ülkede yaşanan en büyük kişisel ve toplumsal sorunların başında gelmektedir. Tüm dünyada olduğu gibi, Türkiye’de de engellilerin yaşam ve eğitim sorunlarının çözümü için, yaşananlar ve alınması gereken önlemlerin neler olduğu araştırılmakta ve öngörülmektedir. Bu araştırmada, öncelikle, engellilik olgusu genel hatlarıyla incelenmiş ve kavramlara açıklık getirilmiştir. Engellilerin sorunları ve denenmiş çözümler hakkında yazın araştırması yapılmış, deneyimler ile bilgiler küçük notlarla çalışmaya eklenmiştir. Bu çalışmayla, Bolu ilinde yaşayan ve özel öğretim öğrencisi olan engelli öğrencilerin bazı yaşam, eğitim ve okul yaşam kalitesi hakkındaki görüşleri belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Bolu İl Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğünün izni ve desteğiyle uygulanan anket sonuçlara göre, Bolu ilindeki öğrencilerin yaşamlarından memnun olduğu ve “özel eğitim öğretmenlerinin” engellilerin eğitim süreçlerindeki yerinin çok önemli olduğu istatistiksel olarak belirlenmiştir
“Disability" is known to be the biggest individual and social problem that people are facing in many countries. Living conditions and education problems of the disabled in Turkey which like most of the world are being researched and are trying to be avoided by taking a lesson from the past and looking to the future. In this research, primarily the general terms of disability are analyzed and concepts of it are clarified. Problems of the disabled and past solutions for these problems have been documented and outcomes have been added to the research with fine prints. This study tried to determine the opinions of disabled students who live in Bolu and attend special education institutes about life, education and their school life quality. According to the results of the survey conducted with the permission and support of the Bolu Provincial Directorate of National Education, it is statistically determined that the disabled students in Bolu are satisfied with their lives and the place of the "special education teachers" in the education process is very important
