Bu çalışmada, istircâ terimi hadis rivayetleri temel alınarak disiplinler arası bir yön-temle analiz edilmiş; araştırmanın ilk bulgusu olarak kavramın Câhiliye döneminde bir kar-şılığının olmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Çalışma ayrıca, Hz. Peygamber ve ashabının istircâyı yalnızca büyük felaketler karşısında değil; aynı zamanda pişmanlık, sünnete aykırı uygula-malar ve din istismarı gibi durumlarda da manevî ve ahlakî bir duruş olarak benimsediğini ortaya koymaktadır. Bu bağlamda terim; teolojik açıdan tevhidin doğal bir sonucu olarak itikadî bir duruşa tekabül etmekte; fıkhî açıdan, kalbî bir teslimiyet (farz) ve bunun dille ikrarı (nafile) olmak üzere iki yönlü bir sorumluluk içermekte; tasavvufî perspektifte ise fânilikten mutlak Varlık’a dönüşü simgeleyen derin bir ontolojik şuura dönüşmektedir. So-nuç olarak, istircânın bu çok yönlü yapısı, onun felaket anlarıyla sınırlandırılmış dar algısını aşarak, müminin krizler karşısındaki bütüncül imanî duruşunu ifade eden kapsamlı bir terim olduğunu göstermektedir.
In this study, the concept of istirja’ is analyzed using an interdisciplinary method based on hadith narratives; the research’s initial finding is that the concept had no equivalent in the Jahiliyyah period. The study also reveals that the Prophet and his companions adopted istirja’ not only in the face of great calamities but also as a spiritual and moral stance in sit-uations such as regret, practices contrary to the Sunnah, and the exploitation of religion. In this context, the term corresponds to a creedal stance as a natural result of tawhid (oneness of God) from a theological perspective; from a fiqhi (jurisprudential) perspective, it in-volves a two-fold responsibility comprising submission of the heart (fard) and its verbal affirmation (nafilah); and from a Sufi perspective, it transforms into a deep ontological con-sciousness symbolizing the return from transience to the absolute Being. Consequently, this multifaceted nature of istirja’ transcends its narrow perception limited to moments of ca-lamity, demonstrating that it is a comprehensive concept expressing the believer’s holistic stance of faith in the face of crises.
