Bu nedenle hemşirelerin erken risk saptama, faktör analizi ve kanıta dayalı önleyici girişimlerin planlanmasında üstlendiği merkezi rol, kapsamlı değerlendirmelere dayalı etkili düşme önleme stratejilerinin geliştirilmesi açısından kritik önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışma, yaşlı bireylerde düşme riskine yönelik hemşirelik alanında yapılan araştırmaların eğilimlerini belirlemek ve görselleştirmek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Web of Science’ta (WoS) hemşirelik kategorisinde, İngilizce dilinde, SCI-Expanded, SSCI ve AHCI indekslerinde yer alan toplam 439 orijinal makale analiz edilmiştir.

<p>Falls in older adults are the most common cause of unintentional injury and death after motor vehicle accidents, and age-related declines in cognitive, motor, and sensory functions increase this risk. Therefore, nurses&#039; central role in early risk identification, factor analysis, and planning evidence-based preventive interventions is critical for developing effective fall prevention strategies based on comprehensive assessments. This study aimed to identify and visualize trends in nursing research on fall risk in older adults. Four hundred thirty-nine original articles from the Web of Science (WoS) nursing category were analyzed in English and indexed by SCI-Expanded, SSCI, and AHCI. Data were bibliometrically analyzed using VOSviewer 1.6.20, author, article, citation, journal, country, institution, and keyword analyses. According to the citation analysis, the most influential publication was Cheng &amp; Chang&#039;s (2017) study titled &quot;Frailty as a Risk Factor for Falls Among Community Dwelling People: Evidence From a Meta-Analysis.&quot; The most influential journal was &quot;Geriatric Nursing.&quot; The most published authors were Theo Dassen and Ruud J. G. Halfens (n=6), the most cited author was Shu-fang Chang (467 citations), and the most influential country was the United States (US). The number of publications was prominent in the US (168), Australia (52), and China (39). The most frequently used keywords were &quot;falls&quot; (91), &quot;nursing&quot; (68), and &quot;accidental falls&quot; (50). The number of publications increased between 1993 and 2020, with the most published in 2020 (n=35). The findings reveal the current status of nursing research on the risk of falls in older individuals and can guide future studies.</p></trans-abstract>
