<p>Objective: This study aimed to examine the effect of health literacy levels on traumatic birth perception and self-efficacy among pregnant women in their third trimester. Materials and Methods: This descriptive study was conducted between April and May 2025 with 392 pregnant women attending the Obstetrics and Gynecology Outpatient Clinic of Kastamonu University Training and Research Hospital. Data were collected using a Descriptive Information Form, the Turkish Health Literacy Scale-32 (THLS-32), the Traumatic Birth Perception Scale (TBPS), and the Self-Efficacy Scale (SES). Data analysis included descriptive statistics, independent samples t-tests, and Pearson correlation analysis. Results: It was determined that 61% of the participants were aged 25–35 years, 47% had a university or higher level of education, 57% reported that their income was equal to their expenses, and 68% were unemployed. It was found that 82% of the pregnant women had planned pregnancies, and 76% had not attended childbirth preparation education. In terms of THLS-32 scores, health literacy levels were significantly higher among unemployed women, those with previous pregnancy and birth experience, those with living children, and those who had not received childbirth preparation education (p</p></trans-abstract>
