The pattern of tree of life which hasbeen used both symbolically and decoratively from past to present appears a traditional figure incontemporary works. Within the extent of our research, when the symbolic meanings and forms ofthe tree of life are observed it is seen that it varies from culture to culture. In this variety, the treeof life in Metepec ceramics in Mexico comes to the foreground. In this context, the contemporaryceramics artists that produce in Metepec ceramics centre claim their traditional art with the treesof life that they form with their own styles and carry this field of art one step further to a contemporary dimension. In our research which is supported as a scientific research project by AnadoluUniversity, the examples of ceramics trees of life produced in Metepec ceramics centre are analyzedstylistically and conceptually.</p></trans-abstract>
