                                                                                                <abstract><p>İnternet teknolojilerinin gündelik hayatın vazgeçilmez bir parçası haline gelmesi, farklı özelliklerdeki kullanıcıların ihtiyaçlarına yönelik arayüz tasarım alternatiflerini gündeme getirmiştir.Her yaş grubundan insanın kullanımına açık olan sosyal medyanın arayüz tasarımları için, farklıyaş gruplarına yönelik farklı tasarım çözümlerine ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. SnapChat gibi uygulamalarda olduğu gibi sadece arayüz tasarımı farklılaştırılarak belli yaş gruplarından oluşan hedefkitleye ulaşmak mümkün olabilmektedir. Arayüz tasarımları özelleştirilerek sadece belli özellikteki insan topluluklarına hizmet verebilmektedir. Bu bağlamda farklı yaş gruplarının kullanıcıarayüz tasarımları ile olan etkileşimleri, ihtiyaçları ve karşılaştıkları zorlukları belirlemek önemkazanmıştır. Bu ihtiyaçların belirlenmesi adına, 60 yaş üstü sosyal medya kullanıcılarının demografik özelliklerinin, sosyal medya ve kullanıcı arayüz tasarımları ile ilgili tutumlarına yönelik biraraştırma yapmak bu makalenin amacıdır. Araştırma sürecinde belirlenen hedef kitleden 137 sos-yal medya kullanıcısına sosyal medya etkileşimleri ve ihtiyaçları ile ilgili sorular yöneltilmiş, çıkansonuçlar araştırmada yanıtları aranan 4 soru üzerinden yorumlanmıştır. Araştırmada öne çıkansonuçlardan biri, 60 yaş üstü kullanıcıların, sosyal medya sitelerini, bağlandıkları cihazlar üzerin-den yakınlaştırmaya ihtiyaç duymalarıdır. Sosyal medya uygulamalarında arkaplan renklerininsadeliği, metinlerin daha büyük görünmeleri bu yaş grubu kullanıcılar için önemli kriterler olarakdeğerlendirilmektedir. Bu araştırma sonucunda farklı yaş gruplarına yönelik arayüz tasarımlarıihtiyacı ve bu arayüzlerin kişiselleştirme özelliğine sahip olması gerekliliği ön plana çıkmıştır.&amp;nbsp;</p></abstract>

                            <p>The fact that internet technologies become an indispensable part of everyday life has broughtattention to the needs of different users’ interface design requirements. The interface designs ofsocial media that are openly used by people from every age group require different designs fordifferent age groups. Just as in applications like SnapChat, it is possible to reach a target groupcomposed of certain age groups by differentiating the interface design. Interface design can becustomized to serve specific niches. In this context, it is important to identify the interactions, needsand challenges of different age groups with user interface design. In order to determine these needs,it is the aim of this paper to conduct a survey of the attitudes of social media users over the age of 60on their demographic, social media and user interface design. The target set in the research processwas directed to 137 social media users with questions about social media interactions and theirneeds, and the results were interpreted through four questions that formed the basis of the research.One of the key findings of the survey is that users over the age of 60 need to zoom in on their socialmedia sites through the devices they are connected with. In these social media applications, thebackground colors are considered to be the most important criteria for the users of this age group.As a result of this research, the necessity of customized interface designs for different age groups andthe necessity of having the personalization feature of these interfaces became evident.&amp;nbsp;</p></trans-abstract>
