ÖZHalk eğitimi yetişkinin davranış, düşünce ve eylemlerinde değişiklik yaratmayı sağlayacak yeni bilgilerin, becerilerin kazandırılmasını amaçlar. Bu amacın gerçekleşebilmesi için yetişkinlerin eğitsel gereksinimlerinin, ilgilerinin ortaya çıkartılması, eğitsel araçların saptanması, öğretim işleri için planlamanın yapılması, uygulanması ve değerlendirilmesi ve yetişkinlerin bu sürece katılması sağlanmalıdır. Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy Halk Eğitim Merkezinde, yöredeki kadınlara bu imkân sağlanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada söz konusu merkezin faaliyetlerinden bir kesit ve yörenin dokuma geleneği (Alaca dokumaları) ele alınmıştır. In Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy Public Education Center, this opportunity is provided to local women.
