                                                                                                <abstract><p>Objective: E. coliis a type of bacterium that causes urinary tract infections in women. The aimof the work was to investigate the possible use of epithelial cells from theurinary tract in identifying infections–related DNA damage effects in women.Methods: Epithelial cellsfrom urinary tract were collected from 40 E.coli infection and 40 control (non- infection) women and subjected tomicronucleus assay. Number of cells with micronucleus, binucleus cells were counted in two groups asparameters for the evaluation of genome stability. All of urine samples pH, leukocyte, leukocyte esterase, nitriteresults measured with H-800urine analyzer and FUS-200 urine sediment analyzer.Result: E.coli infection and non-infection cases test results were statistically evaluated with Mann-WhitneyU and Independent Sample T test. A p-value of &amp;lt;0.05 was foundstatistically significant for micronucleus, binucleus, and urine , leukocyte, leukocyte esterase andnitrite parameters. pHresults were not found statistically significant (p&amp;gt;0,05).Conclusion: Thedetection of E. coli inurinary tract epithelial cells showed that induce DNA damage. Itcan be said that patients with early antibiotics and doses, early treatment mayhelp to reduce the level of DNA damage.</p></abstract>

                            <p>Amaç: E. coli, kadınlarda idrar yolu enfeksiyonlarına neden olan bir bakteri türüdür. Çalışmanın amacı, idrar yollarından epitel hücrelerinin kadınlarda enfeksiyona bağlı DNA hasar etkilerini tanımlamada olası kullanımını araştırmaktır.Yöntem: İdrar yollarından alınan epitel hücreleri, 40 E.coli enfeksiyonu ve 40 kontrol (enfeksiyon olmayan) kadıntan toplandı ve mikronukleus testine tabi tutuldu. Mikronükleuslu hücrelerin sayısı, iki çekirdekli hücreler, genom istikrarının değerlendirilmesi için parametreler olarak iki grupta sayılmıştır. Tüm idrar örnekleri pH, lökosit, lökosit esteraz, nitrit H-800 idrar analizörü ve FUS-200 idrar tortu analizörü ile ölçüldü.Sonuç: E. coli enfeksiyonu ve enfeksiyon olmayan olgular test sonuçları Mann-Whitney U ve Bağımsız Örnek T testi ile istatistiksel olarak değerlendirildi. Mikronükleus, binucleus ve idrar, lökosit, lökosit esteraz ve nitrit parametreleri için &amp;lt;0.05 anlamlı bir p-değeri bulundu. pH değerleri istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunmadı (p&amp;gt; 0,05).Tartışma: Üriner sistem epitel hücrelerinde E. coli&#039;nin saptanması, DNA hasarına neden olduğunu gösterdi. Erken antibiyotik ve dozlara sahip hastaların, erken tedavi, DNA hasarının seviyesini düşürmeye yardımcı olabileceği söylenebilir.</p></trans-abstract>
