                            <p>Introduction:Thesuprascapular notch is located where the upper edge of the scapula meets the baseof the processus coracoideus.The suprascapular notch is closed with the superiortransverse scapular ligament and converted into the hole.The supra scapular nevrepasses through this hole.Differences in the shape and size of the notch may causessuprascapular nerve compression.The purpose of this study is to examine the shape,dept hand width of the suprascapular notch and to determine whether there is adifference between the right and left sides.Materialsand Methods: In our study, 18 scapula were examinedin the Anatomy Department of Suleyman Demirel University Medicine Faculty. The suprascapularnotch was photographed with a millimeter ruler and the measurements were calculatedwith the Image J program. Data were analyzed with SPSS 20 program.The depth andwidth of the suprascapular notch were measured. The suprascapular notch were dividedinto 5 groups according to their shape and depth. Type I –deep and U-shaped; typeII –shallow and U-shaped; type III –deep and V-shaped; type IV –shallow andV-shaped and type V - foramen-shaped.Results:TypeI, Type II,Type III, Type IV andType V was found%27.7, %16.6, %11.1, %33.3and%11.1, respectively.There was nosignificant difference between the sides whenthe depth and width of the right and left side were compared (p&amp;gt; 0.05).Conclusion:Inour study, the incisura scapulae types were similar to the current studies, butmore parameters were used to group of the suprascapular notch types in this study.Knowingthe morphological changes of the suprascapular notch is important in the surgicalinterventions to be performed in this region and in the diagnosis of nervecompression lesions.KeyWords: Incisura scapulae, Typing, Morphometry</p></trans-abstract>
                                                                                                                                    <abstract><p>Giriş:Incisurascapulae, scapula’nın margo superior’unun processus coracoideus’un tabanıylabirleştiği yerde bulunan çentiktir. Incisura scapulae, lig.transversum scapulaesuperius ile kapatılarak bir foramene dönüşür. Bu foramenden n.suprascapularisgeçer. Çentiğin şeklindeki ve boyutundaki farklılıklar suprascapular sinirsıkışmasına sebep olabilir.Bu çalışmanın amacı incisura scapulae’nın şekildeğişikliklerini, derinliğini ve genişliğini incelemek ve sağ-sol taraflararasında farklılık olup olmadığını belirlemektir.Gereçve Yöntem: Çalışmamızda Süleyman DemirelÜniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Anatomi Anabilim Laboratuvarı’nda bulunan 18 adetscapula incelendi. Incisura scapulae milimetrik cetvel ile fotoğraflandı veölçümler Image J programı ile hesaplandı. Veriler SPSS 20 programı ile analizedildi. Incisura scapulae’nin derinliği ve genişliği ölçüldü. Incisura scapulae’larşekline ve derinliğine göre 5 gruba ayrıldı. Tip I - derin ve U şeklinde; tipII - sığ ve U şeklinde; tip III - derin ve V şeklinde; tip IV - sığ ve Vşeklinde ve tip V - çentiği delik şeklinde olarak gruplandırıldı.Bulgular:TipI, Tip II, Tip III, Tip IV ve Tip V sırasıyla%27,7, %16,6, %11,1,%33.3ve%11,1oranlarında bulundu. Sağ ve sol taraf incisura scapulae derinliğive genişliği karşılaştırıldığında ise taraflar arasında anlamlı fark bulunmadı(p&amp;gt;0.05).Sonuç:Çalışmamızdaincelenen incisura scapulae tiplerinin bulunma oranları mevcut çalışmalarlabenzer olmakla beraber incisura scapulae tiplerini gruplandırırken daha fazlaparametre kullanılmıştır. Incisura scapulae’nin morfolojik değişikliklerininbilinmesi bu bölgeye yapılacak cerrahi girişimlerde ve sinir sıkışmalezyonlarının tanılanmasında önem taşımaktadır.AnahtarSözcükler: Incisura scapulae, Tiplendirme,Morfometri</p></abstract>
