ObjectiveOral isotretinoin is an effective treatment used for yearsin the treatment of acne vulgaris. Many side effectsof it have been reported, and new ones appear dayby day. In this study, it was aimed to investigate whetherisotretinoin causes changes in serum uric acid andMPV levels, which are markers that can be evaluatedin many diseases.Material and Methods78 patients who were admitted to Dermatology OutpatientClinic of our hospital and were diagnosed withmild to moderate or severe acne vulgaris and to whomisotretinoin treatment was started at least three monthsago, were included in this study. AmaçSistemik oral isotretinoin, orta-şiddetli akne vulgaris vetedaviye dirençli hafif akne vulgaris tedavisinde yıllardırkullanılan etkin bir tedavidir. İsotretinoin tedavisininbirçok yan etkisi bildirilmiş olup, gün geçtikçe yeni yanetkileri de ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, isotretinointedavisinin birçok hastalıkla ilişkili değerlendirilebilenbelirteçler olan serum ürik asit ve MPV düzeylerindedeğişime neden olup olmadığının araştırılmasıamaçlandı.Gereç ve YöntemHastanemiz Dermatoloji Polikliniğine başvuran, enaz üç ay önce isotretinoin tedavisi başlanmış olan vekontrollerini aksatmayan, hafif-orta veya şiddetli aknevulgaris tanısı almış 78 hasta çalışmaya alındı.
