<p>ObjectiveMale breast cancer is a rare disease. Its incidence hasincreased in recent years, but survival outcomes areimproving. Due to the lack of prospective randomizedtrials, it is treated and followed up according to femalebreast cancer guidelines. However, it is thought thatthere may be differences in the course of the diseasedue to its unique anatomy and physiology.Materials and MethodsThe data of male patients who were operated forbreast cancer in Süleyman Demirel UniversityMedical Faculty Surgical Oncology Clinic betweenJanuary 2011 and January 2020 were evaluatedretrospectively. Breast pathologies other thanadenocarcinoma were not included in the study.ResultsSeven patients were included in the study. During thesame period, 847 female patients were seen, while therate of male patients was % 0,8. Level 1, 2, 3 axillarydissection was performed in all patients along withtotal mastectomy. When the pathology results wereevaluated, it was seen that 1 (14,2 %) patient had stage1, 2 (28,5 %) patient stage 2, 3 (42,8 %) patient stage 3,1 (14,2 %) patient stage 4 disease. The median overallsurvival was 48 months (min: 35 - max: 53).ConclusionIt has been shown that the prognosis of male breastcancer in patients at the same stage is not worsethan female breast cancer. However, in practice, the prognosis is worse due to late diagnosis, noncompliancewith treatment and standardizationproblems. We believe that better results can beachieved by raising awareness about male breastcancer and standardizing treatment specific to malebreast cancer as a result of large - scale prospectiverandomized trials.</p></trans-abstract>
