Özet
Amaç: Kronik Böbrek yetmezliği (KBY) tanısı ile Hemodiyaliz programında iken meme kanseri tanısı konan hastaların özelliklerinin incelenmesi amaçlandı.
Metod: 2002-2009 yılları arasında Mersin Devlet Hastanesi ve Süleyman Demirel üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Tıbbi Onkoloji ünitelerinde meme kanseri tanısı konmuş halen hemodiyaliz programında olan 14 hastanın dosyaları retrospektif olarak incelendi.
Bulgular :Hastaların %42' si Evre 4 , %28'i Evre 3 , %22'si Evre 2 , %8'i Evre 1 idi. Ondört hastadan 4 tanesi hormonoterapi ,10 tanesi kemoterapi , 6 tanesi adjuvan radyoterapi aldı. Hastaların yapılan son kontrollerinde % 58'i yaşıyor ,% 48'i ex olmuş idi.

Abstract
Evaluation of the clinical features of the patients who were diagnosed as breast cancer during hemodialysis treatment.
Objective: The aim of the study , was to evaluate clinical features of the patients who were diagnosed as breast cancer during hemodialysis.
Method: Fourteen patients with end stage renal disease who were diagnosed as breast cancer while they were receiving hemodialysis treatment of Mersin State Hospital and Süleyman Demirel University School of medicine were included in the study between June 2002-March 2006.
Results : Forty two percent of the patients were stage IV , %28 were in stage III, %22 were stage II and % 8 stage I. Four patients received hormonotherapy , 10 patients received chemotherapy and six patients received radiotherapy. Fifty eight percent of the patients were alive and % 42 died. While four patients died as a result of breast cancer , two patients died due to progression of renal disease.
Conclision: Forty two percent of the patients who were diagnosed as breast cancer during hemodialysis treatment were in metastatic stage at the time of diagnosis. None of them had any screening evalution for breast cancer following the initiation of hemodialysis treatment. This finding suggests that even if the patients are suffering end stage renal disease ,they should be screened for breast cancer as normal population.
Key words: Breast cancer , hemodialysis , End-stage renal disease
