                                                                                                <abstract><p>Bu çalışma Dedemin İnsanları filmini milliyetçilik kuramlarına dair sembol ve metinler aracılığıylairdelemektedir. Çalışmada milliyetçiliği tartışırken, film metninde failin varlığı sorgulanmaktadır.Çalışmanın amacı dil, bayrak, ötekileştirme, cemaat gibi milliyetçilik kuramlarında değinilentemel kavram ve olguları metinler arası bir okuma ile incelemektir. Giriş bölümünde çalışmanınkuramsal dayanağını oluşturan yapısalcılık, post-yapısalcılık, sosyal bilimlerde milliyetçilikkuramları ve sinema milliyetçilik ilişkisi tartışılmaktadır. Milliyetçiliğin diğer gösterenlerinin yanısıra ekonomi ve dil ile ilişkisinin üstünde durulmaktadır. İlerleyen bölümde film metnindemilliyetçiliğin gösterenleri milliyetçilik kuramları bağlamında incelenmektedir. İncelemeyaklaşımı normatif değil pozitiftir, böylece çalışma filmin nasıl olması gerektiğinden ziyade, nasılolduğu üstünde durmaktadır. Son bölümde ise filmin yönetmeni ile yapılan bir röportajdakendi sorduğu sorunun filmdeki cevabı aranmakta, bu soru son dönem Türk sinemasındayaygınlaştığı kabul edilen bir düşünce –devleti, yapıyı öne çıkaran; bireyi önemsizleştiren birikilik- ile birlikte tartışılmaktadır.&amp;nbsp;</p></abstract>
                                                                                                                                    <trans-abstract xml:lang="en">
                            <p>This study analyzes the film Dedemin İnsanları (The People of My Grandfather) via symbols andtexts about nationalism theories. The study questions the existence of the individual in thefilm text. The study aims to observe the integral concepts and facts in the theory of nationalism, such as language, flag, Othering, and community, through an intertextual reading of thefilm. First, the study discusses the theoretical backgrounds, such as post-structuralistic, structuralistic, and nationalistic theory in social science, and the relationship between nationalismand cinema, emphasizing the relationships among nationalism, economy, and language. Thenit examines the significance of nationalism in the film text. The approach is not intended to benormative; rather it is positive, focusing on how film is to be, rather than how it has to be. Thelast section presents an interview with the director of the film about the dichotomy betweencivil society and the state, which trivializes the concept of the the individual and highlightsstructure in the Turkish Cinema in the new era.&amp;nbsp;</p></trans-abstract>
