                                                                                                <abstract><p>Kamu Tercihi (aynı zamanda Politik İktisat olarak da bilinir) siyasetin (politikanın) iktisadi analizini; Davranışsal İktisat ise iktisadın (ekonominin) psikolojik analizi yapar.  Bir başka ifadeyle kamu tercihi ekonomiyi politikaya, davranışsal iktisat ise psikolojiyi ekonomiye uygulayarak araştırma yapan iki ayrı interdisipliner araştırma programıdır.Kamu tercihinin öncülerinden birisi olan Dennis Mueller’in ifadesiyle “kamu tercihinin temel davranışsal önermesi insanın bencil, rasyonel ve fayda maksimizasyoncu olduğudur.” Davranışsal iktisat ise insanın iktisadi alandaki davranış, karar ve tercihlerinin öngörülemezliğini, tutarsızlığını ve mantıksızlığını açıklamaya çalışır.</p></abstract>
