The concepts of Vahdet-i Vucud and Vahdet-i Shuhud have influenced many sects of Sufism and have become the disposition of many saints throughout the history. Especially the fact that both ways of spiritual progress were based on unity and that they were very enjoyable dispositions followed with love have always kept the interest in these two disciplines fresh. How Said Nursî discussed these two concepts in his works called Risâle-i nûr Collection has been a matter of curiosity, such as which criticisms he directed with their similar and different aspects, and whether these two dispositions could be accepted as the highest level in Sufism in his eyes. It was especially discussed whether the spirit of Vahdet-i Vucud was the ultimate point of perfection in spiritual progress. In his works, Said Nursî also discussed and interpreted in detail the deficiencies of the idea of Vahdet-i Vucud, whether the verses of the Qur’an were in line with their apparent meaning, and the dangers that could lead people to fall. Nursî, who considered the idea of “Vahdet-i Shuhud” as more harmless than the idea of “Vahdet-i Vucud”, talked about the deficiencies of this mystical concept. And, he showed progress through the avenue of the Qur’an, which he called the profession of the Companions, and the way of the Companions and great saints, whom he called “succession of prophecy” as the highest spiritual level. After briefly mentioning the concepts of “Vucud”, “Vahdet-i Vucud”, and “Vahdet-i Shuhud”, the information and criticisms given about these two dispositions, which are discussed in many places in the Risâle-i nûr Collection, and ultimately Nursî’s opinions on these two concepts are summarized in the present study.
Vahdet-i vücûd ve vahdet-i şühûd kavramları, tasavvuf tarihi boyunca birçok tarikatı etkilemiş, birçok velinin meşrebi olmuştur. Özellikle her iki manevi terakki yolunun da tevhid-i zevkiyi esas alması ve aşk ile yürünen çok zevkli birer meşrep olması, bu iki meşrebe olan ilgiyi her zaman taze tutmuştur. Said Nursî’nin Risâle-i Nûr Külliyatı adını verdiği eserlerinde, bu iki kavramı nasıl ele aldığı; birbirleriyle benzer ve farklı yönleriyle hangi eleştirileri yönelttiği, kendisinin nazarında bu iki meşrebin tasavvufta en yüksek mertebe olarak kabul edilip edilemeyeceği gibi konular merak konusu olmuştur. Özellikle vahdet-i vücûd meşrebinin manevi terakkide en nihai kemal noktası olup olmadığı tartışılmıştır. Said Nursî de eserlerinde, pek çok yerde vahdet-i vücûd düşüncesinin noksanlıklarını, Kur'an ayetlerinin zahirine uygun olup olmadığını, insanı sürükleyebileceği tehlikeleri detaylıca ele almış ve yorumlamıştır. Vahdet-i vücûd düşüncesine göre vahdet-i şühûd düşüncesini daha zararsız gören Nursî, yine de bu tasavvufi kavramın da eksikliklerinden bahsetmiştir. Ve en yüksek manevi mertebe olarak, sahabenin mesleği dediği Kur’an’ın cadde-i kübrasından ilerlemeyi, verâset-i Nübüvvet dediği sahabelerin ve büyük evliyaların yolunu göstermiştir. Biz bu çalışmamızda, tasavvuf ıstılahında “vücûd” kavramı ile beraber, “vahdet-i vücûd” ve “vahdet-i şühûd” kavramlarına kısaca yer verdikten sonra, Risâle-i Nûr Külliyatındaki çeşitli eserlerde pek çok yerde ele alınan, bu iki meşrebe dair verilen bilgi ve eleştirileri, neticede de Nursî’nin bu iki kavrama dair görüşlerini özetlemeye çalıştık.
