DİN, MANEVİYAT VE DEPRESYON: TETKİK VE TEDAVİ İÇİN ÖNERİLER

Öz

Psikiyatrik araştırma ve uygulamalarda din ve maneviyata son zamanlarda bir alaka
olmuştur. Bu araştırma, psikiyatrik araştırmalarda dinî / manevî değişkenleri inceleyerek
ilgili problemleri ana hatlarıyla belirledikten sonra, depresyon ve dindarlığın çeşitli ölçümleri
arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektedir. Araştırmada, Medline, PsyINFO ve PubMed
veritabanları kullanılarak 1996’dan 2006’ya kadar din ve depresyon üzerine yayınlanmış
literatürü içeren veri tabanlarının bir incelemesi gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu literatür, dindar
olanların daha düşük seviyede depresif semptomlara ve depresyon sıklığına sahip olduklarını
ve dinin depresyondan iyileşme hızını arttırdığını ortaya koymaktadır. Bu koruyucu
etkinin psikotik depresyondaki payı daha az belirgindir.Bu değerlendirme yazısı, gelecekteki
araştırmalar için potansiyel alanlara ve klinik önerilere değinerek sona ermektedir.
